Surreal Kind of Day; Po.rn Mentioned; Book Reading Frenzy

5 01 2009

Wow – today was a really weird day.  First, I went back to work and I was not all that busy – which is fine, I need some downtime from how hectic it was in December – but to make a long story short one of my colleagues got all defensive and crazy when I let them know about some really glaring errors in their docs…I was really nice about it, I am a teamwork sort of gal, but this person freaked – they eventually apologized but I AM SO GLAD I was not on any hormones because I totally did not freak out back, I was really professional about the whole thing.

So, next I leave early and see a guy on the sidewalk acting really suspicious and checking out cars and he tried to open a car’s doors…I called the police and they actually called me back like four times to track this guy down because they have been getting a lot of car break-ins…I had already left the area and could not be of any help.

So the grand finale to the day is that I go over to Mr. M’s dad’s house. Mr. M’s dad is 75 and he needed help with the I.Po.d Shuf.fle that we advised him to get and how to work I.Tun.es.  Mr. M’s dad is divorced from Mr. M’s mom and has been known to date a few ladies at a time – yes, he is 75.  So I go on the computer to help him and I start clicking on the files he created for his music.  Yeah, well all of a sudden about 10 photos popped up in a window with some serious gi.rl-on-gi.rl action.  Mr. M’s dad was standing right there – I know he saw it and I know he knows I saw it – I shut the window as fast as my hands (which felt webbed at the time) could do it.  I just pretended it did not happen. Mr. M’s dad is old school italian and I could tell he was MORTIFIED that had happened.  I wanted to laugh out loud but I contained myself and we never said a word about it.  I got home and told Mr. M – he almost peed he laughed so hard.  Mr. M’s dad called Mr. M tonight but did not say anything – Mr. M thinks he was seeing if Mr. M would say anything.  Oh the golden years.

I went on a major reading frenzy this weekend – I think that since I read a lot of dry stuff all day, I turn to a more fanciful side during my spare time.  I, yes, I will publicly admit it, loved Twi.light.  More than that, though I loved Charla.ine Harri.s Soo.kie Stack.house series.  Most recently I read Carr.ie Vaug.hn’s Kit.ty series – – it was really fun and really entertaining reading (Kit.ty is a were.wolf with a radio talk show) – WARNING – the Sil.ver Bull.et book does mention a miscarriage that Kit.ty has.  I think I will add my reading to this blog so that I do not feel so lame when I have nothing IVF/IF related to talk or rant about.

Thanks for the laugh! I can only imagine how mortified Mr. M’s dad was! I look forward to hearing about your fave reads. I’m always looking for something new and different to read.

Good for you for calling the cops on the guy trying to break into cars! I hope they catch him!

Mr M’s dad’s story is kind of cute actually! I love it when the oldies still have the passion for life in them!

Umm, I think I’d die if that was my FIL. Yep, I’m sure I would.

Good for you for calling the cops!

this post was hilarious. A very weird day indeed.
The story with your Mr M’s dad was too funny! I almost peed my pants!
Not that he had the files, but that they were so readily clickable!
and yes, please share your reads. I need something light right now too.

Ha ha….that is so funny and mortifying about the FIL! Thanks for the comments about the books. I might have to check some of those out (already ready Twilight) after I finish up the stack of work-related books. Booo….
