A Past Life

1 06 2010

I was cleaning out my purse/suitcase that I carry to work and there were things in there from my last day of work, which was on January 25.  It was like peeking into a past life – I was a different person on that day.  Not yet a mother.  I am a completely different person in so many ways.  I am a mom now, I have a son and a daughter.  Wow.  I have a son and a daughter.

Kara's Mom

I bet that job seems less important to you now than it did in January too. I remember after losing Kara, I went back to work feeling like everything was just ridiculous. Work was NOT important, everything that was important was family. This time (I’m in the same job) I took 6 weeks off before the birth and I’m looking forward to 10 weeks off after they arrive. I am planning to spend every moment with them and will hate it when I have to go back to THE JOB, because it doesn’t mean anything to me anymore except a paycheck.

It is what it is

Awww, that is so sweet to read (and made me teary).

My 3 yr old is laying on me as I type this after just saying to my husband and I, “I want to lay with you guys”.

While it is the hardest job in the world, it is, by far, the MOST rewarding.
